Seeing RED

I’m seeing red today!

This girl LOVES her some red.

Scarlet, crimson, cardinal, cerise, claret, garnet, ruby, titian, merlotall courageous, striking, bold–overcame me when I was younger.

But now?

Stand back.

A woman in red is confidently walking into the room.

My office walls are painted red: To inspire creativity and energy. To attract exciting possibilities.

Something else great that happens to be red? My friend Candy is presenting the Twin Cities premiere of her critically-acclaimed play, Scarlet Woman, tonight.

And I love the logos I’ve designed for the Magic Wand Collective and for Rachel’s Holiday Shopping Boutique, each of which is anchored by a more than subtle amount of red.

So, what else to share in a blog post inspired by red? I thought I’d highlight some fetching images courtesy some of the many fabulous vendors who are going to be participating in Rachel’s Holiday Shopping Boutique on November 12th. Check them out here, and by following the links below.

About Rachel’s Holiday Shopping Boutique:

For the second year in a row, more than 35 local businesses and artisans will be featured at Rachel’s Holiday Shopping Boutique on Saturday, November 12, from 10am-4pm. This charitable event will feature a wide variety of personal and unique gifts and services just in time for the holidays, and will help raise funds and awareness for The Michelle Project, a volunteer-led organization that supports low-income women and their families. The event is presented by the Magic Wand Collective, a new Twin-Cities based consortium of women business owners and entrepreneurs whose core values include generosity and community responsibility.

Participating vendors will offer housewares, jewelry, children’s gifts, books, music, cards, art and personalized gifts, specialty foods, beauty and wellness products and services, and much more! Unique and very successful features of this boutique are:

  • Children’s Shoppe where each child has the help of a personal shopper to select inexpensive gifts for family members (all items are $1 or less!)
  • On-site gift-wrapping offered in exchange for a donation of any amount
  • Festive food and drink offered in the Michelle Café and Tea Room
