Comparison

Comparison is the thief of joy

You are unlike anyone else in the universe.

You are absolutely unique and completely incomparable.

Why do you punish yourself with unworthy comparisons?

You allow the thief in through a wide open door.

No wonder your joy has gone missing!

Focus instead on who you abundantly are.

On the many treasures you have at hand.

And on the unique light you have been given to share with the world.

It is always more than enough.

If you have difficulty seeing what is so beautifully extraordinary about you, just ask me.

I will eagerly share with you what I see.

Rachel

Hello my far away friend. I enjoy and am edified by all your posts in one way or another but this one has stuck with me for days. It’s true for me as a twin that I have spent far too long comparing myself to another in both inferior and superior ways. I also struggled with the ideal of what I was supposed to be as a mother a woman and a daughter. The joy came when I really focused on who and what I was alone and that struggle nearly stopped. Yes nearly as I let my joy get stolen still but at least I am aware of it now. I suppose as human beings we take far too long to like ourselves. In my next life (if I truly believed in reincarnation) I want to be a pea cock.
I thank God for you as even though you are not near me your words and blogs provide a presence still. Love always, D
